Meet Me At My Place  is a series of mixed media art objects and paintings exploring themes of identity, loss, and the ways in which unconventional objects function as vessels. Through this series I reflect intently upon the relationships I share with objects I've owned, discarded, or lost, pondering what parts of myself I imbue unto them, what I lose of myself when I no longer have or deny access to them, as well as what I gain of others when they're replaced. The work was born from an interest in bell hooks' as well as Heidegger's conceptions of the dwelling as both a functional, utilitarian space as well as one that acts as a vessel for the most integral parts of the self. Within Meet Me at My Place, I utilize my own home as "set", allowing the viewer to peek into my space as well as the objects that decorate it, honing in on what trinkets, paraphernalia, and media I utilize to personalize and imbue my dwelling with a sense of self as well as exploring the tensions I often face when reflecting upon what they hold of me.
